ALBUQUERQUE (February 15, 2012) – Dean B. Cross has joined the Law Office of George “Dave” Giddens, P.C. as an associate.  His primary emphasis will be helping clients with tax matters and estate planning.  He will also assist in the firm’s commercial litigation department.

Cross has over 22 years of experience as an attorney in the practice area of estate planning, taxation and commercial litigation.  He graduated from Oklahoma University College of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1988. Recently, he received his LL.M. in taxation from the University of Miami College of Law in May 2010. He is also a candidate for an LL.M. in estate planning at the University of Miami College of Law.

In addition to his legal expertise, Cross also is a certified public accountant. He worked as an adjunct instructor teaching accounting and business law at Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, New Mexico.

Previously, Cross worked as a sole practitioner in Miami Shores, Florida, where he represented clients in all aspects of probate and estate matters. He also prepared real estate contracts, operating agreements, and limited partnerships and partnership agreements.

He is a member of the State of New Mexico Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Bar Association; in addition, he is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court of New Mexico, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.

Cross began his legal career in Artesia, New Mexico in 1988 as a partner in the firm of Losee, Carson, Haas and Carroll, P.A. He worked in that firm for ten years before taking a position at the firm of Miller, Stratvert & Torgerson, and P.A. in Las Cruces.
